Our Lughnasadh/Lammas Workshop:
We’ll start by learning about the folklore and history of the cross-quarter day of Lughnasadh/Lammas, then move into our workshop, led by local artisan Emily Smucker-Beidler. You’ll be provided with all of the supplies and instruction needed to create two redware ornaments. We’ll end the afternoon with our sharing table tradition - this season’s theme is a garden bounty share, to celebrate the Earth’s abundance and the start of the harvest season.

The winter and summer solstices divide the year in half and the spring and autumn equinoxes divide those halves into quarters. Cross-quarter days mark the halfway point between each solstice and equinox. They have been traditionally observed and celebrated in a variety of cultural traditions, dating at least back to the Middle Ages.
