Where to Buy Affordable Art Online

Art is something that can completely change the feel of a space and really make a room design. Up until recently, I’ve mostly decorated our walls with family portraits and art I’ve found at the thrift store. I’ve found some pretty cool pieces over the years, but I love the idea of finding art that we really love and supporting artists and small businesses in the process. One of my goals for this year is to grow our collection of artwork. This is the very beginnings of a gallery wall I’m working on in our dining room:

Digital prints vs. Physical prints

There are two ways you can purchase affordable art online - first is buying digital art and then having them printed yourself. Depending on how you choose to print, this can be the most cost-effective option. For smaller sizes, like 8”x 10” up to 11” x 17”, you could print at home. For larger prints, (up to 36” x 48”) you can have engineering prints made at your local Staples or Kinko’s for just a few dollars! Or you can go with a little higher end paper and print quality, like this giclee option from mPix.com. The other options is to buy physical prints directly from the shop or artist. For the purposes of this blog post, I’m defining “affordable” as anywhere from about $15-$50.
